The Reading Jackalope

Dark Places

Dark Places - Gillian Flynn I think I'm just going to mark this one as completed. I went ahead and read the last 20 pages or so in order to spoil myself for the ending, because I needed to know who done it. And now that I have I'm not sure it's worth it to read the rest of the novel. I can't see that Flynn is doing anything interesting in the story, at least nothing that hasn't been covered many times before. I'm unimpressed with the writing style. As I mentioned in a progress comment, Flynn is attempting to recreate a hard boiled true crime style but the imagery she uses to do so doesn't hold up.
