The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner - James Dashner I'm just unsure how I feel. On one hand it was pretty intense and fun. On the other, well there are huge plot holes and a nasty underpinning of racism and misogyny. To be honest it doesn't feel like a modern book because of the racism and sexism. I think it could easily fit in with the early sixties classic YA sci-fi. And to be honest I'm not sure it that's a compliment or not.

Also, the supposed shocker at the end with Chuck? Yea I was waiting for that from about the halfway point. Not original, not creative, and again very old school 60s sci-fi.
